February is a time for ruts. I was just reading many moms share the exact same experience over at Simple Homeschool. The doldrums of the homeschool journey seem to show up this time of year. Almost every year. My ten years of homeschooling have proven this to be true.
So while I don’t often take an official spring break until Easter, this week is my break, in hopes of spring. While the weather keeps showing little peeks of springtime, I’m hoping signs of spring will come peeking through the winter of my mind, just like the crocus, so surprising and refreshing.
My mom is visiting from out of state this week and was excited to jump into our school routine, while I happily jump out and let her serve as our loving substitute teacher.
It feels good to take a break when one is really needed. And if you can’t do that when you’re homeschooling, then when the heck can you?
What about you? Do you feel the freedom to take a break when you really need it the most?
