Top Ten {Tuesday} Thrift Store Finds

in Saving Money

Top Ten {Tuesday}

I love a good deal. Here are my recent finds from local thrift stores (Salvation Army, Goodwill and St. Vincent de Paul) and a few from great garage sales. My motto: “You never know what you’ll find!”

1. Sony Liv CD player with radio and cassette player (yes, I still have some of those) for $1.

2. The baskets below were $1 each and will hopefully keep some of the clutter in my bathroom contained.

3. Baggallini purse in espresso with tomato red interior for $3.99. This was a gift from God! Seriously. I had an espresso Baggallini in my Amazon cart FOREVER. But really couldn’t justify spending the $35-$45 on it. And then one day I came upon this at the thrift store. It was missing the strap, but the nice folks at Baggallini sent me one for FREE. I love this light weight purse and all the cute little compartments!

4. We buy cereal in bulk, but the bulk bags really only lend themselves to a big mess on my kitchen counters and floor. I got this container (which was originally from The Container Store) for $1.99 at the thrift store. Goodbye Rice Krispy crumbs!

5. Set of 8 plaid cotton place mats for $2 at a garage sale. They’re even reversible! And so ideal for summertime!

6. Cuisinart Ice Cream maker (which by the way retails for $49 or so) for $4.99. Works beautifully and my husband now blesses us with the most divine homemade strawberry ice cream.

7. The early bird doesn’t always get the worm, at least not at all the garage sales. I swung into a sale around 2 PM and saw this great desk with a hutch. It had just been marked half price and I got it for $17.

8. Eventide was in need of a mountain bike, as she’d outgrown the last one and passed it down to BlueMoon. We were keeping our eyes open and finally found this great Schwinn for $25.

9. This wasn’t a must-have, but I just thought it would add some fun and whimsy to our schoolroom. It was $5. It’s glass and metal. And chocolate, of course.

10. I was so excited to find these Dansko sandals at the thrift store. They ended up being $2. Gotta love that!
